Seriously, Baylor...???

((HT: Photo Courtesy: Wikipedia))

The following story shouldn't surprise anyone these days...

But, here we go, anyway...

In a conversation with KCEN-TV Sports Director Nick Canizales, head football coach Matt Rhule said this:

Baylor announced last year that it had implemented 105 recommendations made by the law firm Pepper Hamilton, including Title IX training and mandatory online training in the football program, after their independent investigation into the truckload of sexual assaults that had occurred on campus over a substantial period that were either ignored, mishandled- or both...

The end result was the firing of Art Briles as head football coach and most of his staff as well as the removal of AD Ian McCaw (who is now at Liberty- irony inescapable) and university President Kenneth Starr.

So, we now have this incident that new head coach Matt Rhule can't address directly, but can talk about generically thinking the school is handling this round of the issue "the right way."

The HQ doesn't know how you feel about the whole thing, but Baylor should cease having any kind of athletics department or, at the least, any kind of revenue sport...

We give Matt Rhule all the credit in the world for wanting to change the culture- and it may not happen until Rhule gets all the players HE wants in the program- not just those who were held over and are upperclassmen now from the Briles era...

But where is the point where enough is enough...???

Apparently, Waco hasn't hit it yet and no one will step up and make substantive change...

Knowing, full well, the dollars are too hard to ignore putting a team and a program on television... and disassociating from the university as a conference just won't happen either...

Way to make a stand...
