There was a feeling that this was coming...

Current New Mexico head football coach Bob Davie is appealing his suspension from his job...

The suspension that would cost him $75,000 for not being in charge for the 30 days imposed by the university after another investigation into UNM football.

He released a statement challenging the suspension and asserts he cooperated when asked during the three investigations with his program. The final paragraph has the following:

“While I do not think it is appropriate to discuss specifics of the investigation at this time, I will respond to one several troubling allegations. Apparently some unnamed person has claimed that during a team meeting I told the players to ‘get some dirt on this [victim]’. None of the investigators told me about this claim or asked me if I ever made this remark. So there is no misunderstanding, never did I make that or any similar comment.”

NM Fishbowl published the cover letter and the key phrase from Davie's lawyer mentions "...Publication of the Decision during pendency of this appeal would cause grave and irreparable damage to Petitioner and his reputation.”

Here's the latest from Van Tate and KRQE leading into the Davie petition...

Here's their initial story on the suspension...
