Sports Experts are Working Overtime to Give Jaguars Chance vs. Patriots

Okay, come on. Let's be real folks. Unless you are from Jacksonville or a Jaguars fan---do you REALLY think they're going to walk into the home of the New England Patriots and beat them to go to the Super Bowl.

Don't get me wrong--I'm not a fan of the Patriots---but the hype train saying the Jaguars will beat them seems to be gaining steam. And I have no idea why.

The latest: Breathless reporting about Tom Brady's hand....

Said hand injury allegedly occurred when he hit it on a teammates helmet while throwing the ball in practice.

Which gives us this headline:

And this from ESPN....

But alas---there's the constant chatter that Jacksonville will rattle Brady and win ultimately because of their defense. And yes, the defense was very, very good against an ill-prepared and seemingly un-interested Pittsburgh Steelers team...

However---the issue is two-fold here: 1--Experience. The Jaguars as currently constructed have not been on this stage before. There is no telling how they will perform. And for all the hype about the "Defense", they still gave up 42 points last week to Pittsburgh on big pass plays and runs. They stopped the Steelers just barely enough to win....

And #2---The Blake Bortles factor. If the Blake Bortles who went 12 for 23 and 87 yards passing vs. Buffalo shows up, they might have a problem. If Leonard Fournette's ankle isn't 100%, they may have a problem.

At the end of the day, I don't see the Jaguars as ready for this stage. Yes, my Jacksonville friends (there are a lot of them) will be pissed. They don't see the forest because of the trees.

The Jaguars had a great season and are full of promise. They will get better and could easily be back in the AFC Championship game soon and maybe make it to the Super Bowl.

This will not be that year. New England 28, Jacksonville 13.....
