What If A Hockey Game Was Played And No One Showed...???

((HT: Charlotte Checkers/Hockey Is Life))

Happened...

The Carolinas are in the midst of that east coast snowstorm that is driving everyone crazy right now...

Wednesday, the Hornets played and opened their gates in the NBA. The Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League were playing the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Independence Arena and decided not to invite anyone for the sake of safety...

Here's what it looked like...

Checkers players admitted that it was a bit odd not to hear any crowd, but the home team got the win...

"It was a little different, but give [Bridgeport] credit, because they came out flying and outshot us 14-4 in the first period," Checkers coach Mike Vellucci said after the win. "The game was so important that it doesn't matter how many people [are] in the stands, and I think it just took us a while to realize that the game was that important."
