NC State Makes Big ACC Statement by Beating Louisville

So, we have a new "Player" in the hunt for the ACC Title and that player appears to be North Carolina State.

The Wolfpack cemented their status as a contender after muscling past the Louisville Cardinals 39-25 in front of a sellout crowd at Carter-Finley Stadium.

Ryan Finley threw for 367 yards and a TD, and Nyheim Hines ran for 102 and a pair of TD's to lead the scoring parade....while Bradley Chubb the NC State defense corralled Louisivlle QB Lamar Jackson just enough to keep the Cardinals for winning. (Jackson ran for 2 TD's, threw for 354 yards and another TD--but threw a pick 6 late in the game)

What it means in a second, first the highlights from The ACC Digital Network:

What it means is this: Louisivlle will not be a factor in the Top 6 Bowls. The Cardinals are now 4-2, 1-2 in the ACC Atlantic behind both NC State and Clemson though with mostly winnable games left. NC State--they are undefeated in ACC play at 3-0, 5-1 on the season with two BIG games looming.

At the end of October--The Wolfpack head to South Bend to face a suddenly re-invigorated Notre Dame and a week later host #2 Clemson in a game that will likely determine the Atlantic Champion.

But good for Coach Dave Doeren and company---long a middling program who won just enough to get to a bowl game--this years team appears to be much better rounded and a threat to beat anyone whenever they set foot on the field....
