Texans QB Deshaun Watson hands his 1st Game Check to Team Cafeteria Workers
We've followed the career and evolution of Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson since he was a Gainesville Red Elephant. And to say Watson has a heart as big as his 6 foot 3 inch frame would be a huge understatement.
It's why when we found out the Houston Texans Rookie QB took the time to give three Texans team cafeteria workers his first professional game check, it came as no surprise.
For what it is worth, the checks are for a little over $9,000 each (Watson will make roughly $456,000 this season as a rookie--$27K for the 3 checks he handed out). And yes, for you cynics out there---Watson's deal will garner him a little over $2 million over the duration of his contract.
If you don't know Watson's back story, he came from a less fortunate section of Gainesville, Georgia (about an hour NE of Atlanta). His family were recipients of help from others--a Habitat for Humanity family. And Deshaun learned early about giving back to others.
And for those of you talking about "Ungrateful" and "Entitled" NFL players---this is a prime example of why you have NO idea what you are talking about.......
Well done young Mr. Watson, well done....
