Florida Suspends Two More as Investigations Continue, Names Starting QB
Saturday could end up being a very, very long day for the Florida Gators Football Team when they open the season in Dallas vs. Michigan and the Fighting Harbaugh's.
By now most know the Gators already have suspended 6 players--including star WR Antonio Callaway due to the players being accused of running a scam involving reselling items purchased with student funding that was supposed to be use for school supplies. Two more had been suspended due to marijuana arrests.
Now comes word you can add two more names to the players tied into the Card Scam. 2016's leading runner, Jordan Scarlet and WR Rick Wells.
For those not keeping track--that makes 10 players suspended for the season opener. A "Marquee SEC vs. Big 10" Matchup in front of a National Television audience and no, it is not a good look for the Gators. Florida is/was hoping to be a team competing for the SEC East title and still may do that. But the outward appearance is Coach Jim McElwain is quickly compiling a team full of talented kids with um, behavior or discipline issues. And that is a problem.
And just to reaffirm. 10-players suspended is bad....and the investigation may snag more before it is done....
