Ozzie Albies Throw to First Ends Up at Home Plate

We're guessing Atlanta Braves rookie Second Baseman Ozzie Albies is wondering like the rest of us how a throw that should have gone to 1st base--ended up at home plate.

The 19-year old top Braves prospect appears to be a pretty good defensive player--but somehow Monday night, Albies ended up barehanding a ball deflected by his pitcher, Mike Foltynewicz and had a potentially easy 1-4-3 double play.

Mind you--he lined it up perfectly--caught the ball turned and squared up for a strong throw to first to get the batter.

Somehow the ball leaves his hand and ends up at home plate.

And if any of you want to know about Mr. Albies and his defensive prowess, check this play out later in the game....

Ozzie went 2 for 5 on the night but it was not nearly enough as the Seattle Mariners left Sun Trust Park with a 6-5 win over Atlanta.
