Wild 1st Pitch at Red Sox Game Nails Photographer in The Family Jewels
The 1st Pitch at Wednesday nights baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox may go down in history as the funniest of all time.
The Red Sox trotted out a local hero---Jordan Leandre, a cancer survivor who while diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at age 4, took his first turn throwing out the first pitch for a game over a decade ago.
The folks at NESN did a feature on Leandre in 2016, his story is one of the more inspirational things you will ever see/hear about.
Wednesday night, Jordan was out there on the mound again. He's now a teenager and starting pitcher for his high school's baseball team. A pretty good athlete as far as those things go.
However Wednesday it may have been the spotlight, a slip or momentary lapse of reason but Leandre's ceremonial pitch to Tim Andrews, President of the Jimmy Fund likely will be remembered for a long, long time.
Yes, if you've ever been hit by a baseball there, you know it knocks the breath out of you and this was not an exception to that rule. But a hearty "Bravo" to the photographer--Tony Capabianco who somehow caught an amazing image of the pitch.....
