Tim Tebow Smacks Game Winning HR, Improving as Baseball Player?

Is former Denver Broncos and University of Florida QB Tim Tebow inching his way towards respectability as a baseball player?

Maybe so.....

The 29-year old rookie is currently trying out professional baseball and has drawn largely negative reviews by writers and experts. Yet just a couple of weeks ago, Tebow got a promotion from the Mets entry-level Minor League team to their top Single A Team based in St. Luice, Florida.

And while Tebow hasn't been confused yet with Mike Trout---he has shown signs of life. An 11-game hitting streak and 7-RBI's in 33 at-bats.

You can now add his 2nd homerun, this one a bottom of the 7th inning , walk-off shot to deep left field giving the Mets a 5-4 win in Game #2 of their Doubleheader with the Daytona Fireflies.

Another look. No question about this shot....at all....

Yes, moving him up the Minor League ladder is to an extent largely a marketing gimmick by the Mets and the big club has admitted such. And while there isn't much call for .220 hitting power guys in the Minors making the jump to the pros, when they have the ability to draw crowds with them....it makes a business (which MLB is) take a bit of a longer look.

In the meantime---enjoy your Tebow Florida Minor League Baseball fans....we all know how much you worship the ground he walks on. After seeing his gradual growth in a game he hasn't tried to play since high school--he may prove you right. Maybe he can do everything....

We'll see.....
