NPSL Midwest Week17 Review/Preview


In the East, AFC Cleveland had a 6-point week with wins over Fort Pitt in the home and home. Head coach Mike Sesar gave his thoughts after the 1-0 win

FC Buffalo had a two-match week with a loss at Rochester and a 3-3 draw at Dayton Dynamo.

This week, the Wolves (9pts, 5th) host Erie (14pts, 3rd) before the Commodores host Rochester (17pts, 2nd). AFC Cleveland (13pts, 4th) host Syracuse (7pts, 6th) and Fort Pitt (3pts, 7th) host Dayton (18pts, 1st).

In the Great Lakes, it was a big week for Detroit City. Three matches and six points with wins over Kalamazoo, Milwaukee (10pts, 4th), and FC Indiana. Here's the win over FCI

Torrent and Michigan Stars had a goalless draw, AFC Ann Arbor put 5 on FCI,and Grand Rapids won 2-0 at Lansing United.

This week, Grand Rapids (10pts, 4th) is at FC Indiana (4pts, 8th) before hosting Kalamazoo (8pts, 6th). Detroit City (23pts, 2nd) hosts Michigan Stars (8pts, 6th). Ann Arbor (25pts, 1st) also hosts Lansing United (18pts, 3rd).

In the North, VSLT FC won two out of three- Sioux Falls and TwinStars- before losing to Duluth FC. DFC also knocked off Minneapolis City. Sioux Falls also picked up two more draws- 1-1 to Aris and a goalless draw to MedCity. Here's that match

Med City also knocked off Dakota Fusion (18pts, 4th) in the week...

This week, Aris (1pt, 10th) is the only team to play twice- at Duluth (19pts, 2nd) and Dakota. Dakota hosts Minneapolis City (16pts, 5th). MedCity (24pts, 1st) hosts VSLT (19pts, 2nd) and Sioux Falls (10pts, 7th) host TwinStars(11pts, 6th).
