83-Year Old Bill Russell tells NBA Big Men he'd "Kick Their Ass" at Awards Show

If you are a "Basketball" fan and don't know who Bill Russell is--you really need to look him up. The 83-year old Boston Celtics and NBA Legend received a no-brainer award Monday night at the NBA Awards Show.

A Lifetime Achievement Award.....

If you've not heard of him, Russell became a legend as the best player on the Celtics dynasty of the late 1950's and 60's. His epic battles with Wilt Chamberlain were battles I could watch endlessly in an era where the big man still mattered. 11 NBA Championship rings in 13-years, 5 MVP awards and an endless series of accolades are only the beginning of the list of Russell's accomplishments.

He was--in an era of quiet respect--the original NBA Bad-Ass:

The 6-9 Russell retired in 1969 and spent some time in the 1970's and 80's as a coach and commentator for NBA Television Broadcasts

Perhaps it was all because he never had a problem with speaking his mind, something he continued Monday night.....

While appearing onstage with a quintet of legendary NBA Centers--Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dikembe Mutumbo, Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson and Alonzo Mourning, Russell did as Russell does, telling the 35-plus feet of humanity standing next to him---he'd kick their ass....
