Watch: Tim Tebow Sends Bat Flying Into Upper Deck and Other MiLB Trolling
New York Mets Minor League Gate Attraction Tim Tebow had himself quite a night Saturday in Charleston, South Carolina. The Columbia (SC) Fireflies OF/DH was the center of attention in Charleston sometimes for the right reasons and...um, sometimes not.
Tebow, who has a few big hits and Home Runs in Single A ball is trying to transition to baseball at the Age of 29 and having not played baseball for the previous dozen years or so.
But Tebow being Tebow is a HUGE gate attraction for the Fireflies...or any team they are playing. The game against the Charleston RiverDogs was just such a game.
The RiverDogs began the night Trolling.....
Yes, that's right....everyone in the lineup got this graphic when they stepped up to the plate.....But alas, that was not all....( notice how the highlight VO begins...)
Perhaps the highlight of the evening, which as you see was a 3-0 win by the RiverDogs...was when Mighty Tebow came to bat later in the game.....
Indeed an impressive feat by anyone's standards.
For someone who has not played baseball since High School, the Tebow is not a complete bust. Though he is hitting .228 with 3 home runs and 63 strikeouts in 59 games, there are Minor League players with far worse numbers.
For the Fireflies....and the Southern Atlantic League as a whole, he's been a rousing success---helping draw attention and usually large crowds to games---wherever they may be.
But man...that bat flip. I don't recall ever seeing a bat fly that far in a baseball game (Professional...or Amateur) ever....
