NPSL Week 14 Midwest Review/Preview


In the Eastern Region, Rochester Lancers made a statement with a 4-point week in a win over Fort Pitt and a draw in Buffalo. Here's the Fort Pitt win at Wegmans

Dayton Dynamo had a rough week losing both to Erie Commodores and Syracuse FC- giving the expansion side their first win. Nick Episcopo caught up with GK Pat Castle and goal scorer Nate Bourdeau

This week, Dayton is still on top in points (13pts,1st), but have played as many as 5 games more than the next guy, Erie and Rochester both have 7 points, but the Dores have two games in hand there. AFC Cleveland has 4 points. Fort Pitt and Syracuse have 3 and FC Buffalo have 2 points.

Dayton host Fort Pitt. Erie also host Fort Pitt Friday. Rochester hosts Syracuse and the Royals as AFCC starts their weekend with FCB. The Wolves also take care of a home and home with Syracuse.

In the Great Lakes, Detroit City might have found their mojo. A 6-point week with wins over Grand Rapids and FC Indiana took them from the bottom of the table in a hurry.

Michigan Stars lost twice last week- giving up five in losses to AFC Ann Arbor and Lansing United (5-0 and 5-2). FC Indiana started their week with a 3-3 draw with Kalamazoo and Milwaukee Torrent won 3-2 over Lansing before their mid-week match with KFC. Milwaukee lost that match to Kalamazoo, 3-2...

This week, FC Indiana (4pts, 6th) hosts Ann Arbor (18pts, 1st). Saturday, Lansing (15pts, 2nd) goes to Grand Rapids (7pts, 4th). Sunday, Michigan Stars (5pts, 5th) host Milwaukee (4pts, 6th) and Kalamazoo (1pt, 8th) hosts Detroit City (8pts, 3rd).

In the North, it was a busy week with weekend and mid-week matches. Sioux Falls had a a 4-point week with a 1-1 draw with Duluth FC and a win over VSLT FC. Duluth rebounded with a 6-0 win at Dakota. VSLT had a split week as well beating Aris 2-1 as well. Minnesota TwinStars had a split week with a win at Dakota Fusion and a loss at Med City SC.

This week, Minneapolis City (7pts, 6th) plays Sioux Falls (8pts, 4th) and at TwinStars (8pts, 4th). VSLT (7pts, 6th) hosts Dakota (9pts, 2nd) and goes to Duluth (9pts, 2nd). Duluth also hosts Med City (10pts, 1st) before they host Sioux Falls mid-week. LC Aris (0pts, 8th) hosts the Fusion as well.
