Houston Dash Soccer player passes out from Heat Exhaustion during match

Playing Soccer outdoors in Southern Texas in late May could be considered a not-so-great idea. 90+ degree temperatures and 100 degree heat indexes make for extreme conditions for even the best conditioned athletes.
Saturday during a National Women's Soccer League Match played in Houston--a game that started at 3pm local time--the hottest time of day, Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly passed out just seconds before the Dash's match with Seattle was coming to a close....
The whole premise of a late afternoon game in Texas did not go over well....
Daly was taken to a local hospital and given fluids to help re-hydrate while being monitored. She will recover, but the moment was scary.
She took time in the hospital (apparently before her battery died) to thank everyone for helping her....
