Cubs go Anchorman for West Coast Trip and Pull it off

Give the Chicago Cubs this. The season may not have gotten them off to the starts they hoped for, but heck--they are having some fun.

Shortly after Thursday's 5-1 win over the San Francisco Giants, the Cubbies showered, cleaned up and got dressed before taking a bus to the airport and get on a plane heading to the West Coast. The win moved Chicago 1/2 game ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers and into 1st place in the National League Central for the 1st time this season.

Meanwhile, on the um, suggestion of Manager Joe Maddon, the Cubbies decided to make the trip a "Ron Burgundy" themed affair. Yes, we assume you all know the character played by Will Ferrell in the movie Anchorman--we're not going to explain it.

In case you were wondering, seeing a Joe Maddon team do something like this is not a shock. He's known to try things like this to keep his teams loose. And it often works.
