The Jolly Roger Is Putting The "Fun" Back In The NFL
National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell's tweet this afternoon has put the "fun" back in the NFL.
Or as some fans have called it the No Fun League.
"We know that you love the spontaneous displays of emotion that come after a spectacular touchdown." Commissioner Goodell said in a prepared statement released by the NFL. "And players have told us they want more freedom to be able to express themselves and celebrate their athletic achievements."
Aw, the good ole days of Billy "White Shoes" Johnson can return.
Acceptable celebrations are using the football as a prop after a touchdown, celebrating on the ground and group celebrations. If they delay the game or are directed at the opposing team a flag will be thrown.
Even with the new relaxed celebration rules the NFL will be hard pressed to match what the players do North of the border in the Canadian Football League.
